Baltimore Sun David Zurawik
One of the primary attractions of the drama looks to be the fantasy it offers of office mates becoming a community of friends who are continually dropping in on each other to offer companionship and support.

Variety Laura Fries
State of Mind is a smart and edgy series featuring a fresh and talented cast, solid writing, good music and a great premise.

The New York Times Alessandra Stanley
State of Mind owes most of its appeal to Ms. Taylor, an accomplished indie actress with unusual jolie-laide looks who brings a wry charm and dignity to the inauspicious role of a wronged wife who is also burdened with an overbearing mother.

Detroit Free Press Mike Duffy
Thanks mostly to the acting intelligence and talent of Lili Taylor, State of Mind is the more interesting, entertaining newcomer.

This is challenging fare, but the smart storytelling and realistic portrayal of professional relationships is unique and worth checking out.

There is certainly enough right about the first hour of State of Mind that I'll be back for at least one more session with Ann Bellowes.

New York Magazine John Leonard
State of Mind will be worth a careful watching as much for the writer as for the star.

San Francisco Chronicle Tim Goodman
The good news is that State of Mind is surprisingly engaging and Taylor continues to be wonderful in just about any role she plays. This is a series that bears watching.

If State of Mind can work out its mixture of mild wackiness and emotional revelation, it may have a chance.

Entertainment Weekly Gillian Flynn
State of Mind is filled with grand, unearned speeches. But they are so nicely written - about the camaraderie of a good marriage or the bitterness of a bad one - it's difficult to begrudge them.

USA Today Robert Bianco
Taylor, whose performance overflows with touchingly wounded dignity. She also gets to deliver a great speech to two of her patients, which, while totally unrealistic, is fun in an overly theatrical kind of way.

New York Post Linda Stasi
Interesting premise, good acting, some very crisp dialogue - but there's still a way to grow.

Smart-ass, angry girls’ solidarity characterizes State of Mind.

Los Angeles Times Robert Lloyd
State of Mind is the weaker (and the more strenuous and sour) of the two [new shows on Lifetime], and all the more disappointing for the presence of the reliably interesting Taylor.

Boston Globe Matthew Gilbert
Television dramas rarely get therapy right, and State of Mind only adds to that reputation.

Orlando Sentinel Hal Boedeker
State of Mind seems a typical Lifetime series, with a good woman suffering because of a thoughtless man. Yet Taylor gives the show a distinctive kick by tartly conveying confusion and fury.

Chicago Sun-Times Doug Elfman
Taylor, being one of Hollywood's underutilized great actresses, makes State of Mind interesting just by appearing in it. Taylor's supporting cast is quite good, too.

TV Guide Matt Roush
Taylor gives a forceful performance as a wronged wife who lapses into hallucinations during therapy sessions, but a bitter tone pervades most of the rest of the show.

William M gave it a9:
Very well done. You don't have to be a women to watch this excellent program. I would give it a 10 but there are places in the first two episodes where the writer has not provided enough information to explain some of the action. But it all in all is both entertaining and has something to say that is worth saying.
