This show is so much fun that I couldn't stop watching it. It's "Dancing with The Stars" with the possibility of dangerous leg-breaking falls. What could be bad?

Los Angeles Times Robert Lloyd
There is something satisfying about watching difficult things performed well, especially when the point is to make it look easy, and especially when the performer is a person who might reasonably be expected to fail.

Combine the legions of figure skating fans with those who were swept off their feet by "Dancing With the Stars," and all signs point to a breakout hit.

The “look what I can do” element is intrinsically enjoyable, if only because you’re waiting to see celebrity ass hitting ice.

It's a silly, sweet-natured waste of time, and (unlike the tortured caterwauling of the American Idol contestants) it's utterly irresistible.

The skating is slow and rarely pretty, and it’s not live.

Wall Street Journal Nancy DeWolf Smith
The result is ridiculous; but it's far more amusing than Hollywood Squares, which is where other formerly famous go to die.

SWC lacks the charm of the original (Dancing With The Stars). [20 Jan 2006, p.65]

Newsday Diane Werts
Tonight's "Skating" debut glides onto the air in a weird sort of middle zone, not quite cheesy enough to skewer, yet too much a cheese-product to take seriously.

San Jose Mercury News Charlie McCollum
It's a rip-off (and not a particularly well-executed one) of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars."

The result is rarely funny, often humdrum, surprisingly predictable fare.

A genius idea so diluted by imitation that it becomes hard to watch.

"Fox attitude" in this genre demands that if a show's worth producing, it's worth overproducing, from the music to the faux tension to the various back stories (injuries, struggles, pain) designed to gin up drama.

What makes a cloney-baloney reality show such as the new ''Skating With Celebrities" bearable? For me, it's the constant awareness of how ''Saturday Night Live" might milk its silliness.

zoro flop gave it a0:
Possibly THE worst show ever concieved. Rips off a horrible show (dancing with the stars), to make an even more despicable one. To think, Arrested Development was replaced by THIS?

c r gave it an8:
i love this show!

Jenna A gave it a0:
THis show is a take off of Dancing with the stars and Dancing with the stars is so much better

Jake gave it a0:
an absolute waste of time. The MC's voice gave me a few laughs because he sounds like a woman, and one of the judges strangely reminds me of Bilbo from LOTR.....lol, those little rosy cheeks of his! Why don't they bring back "Man versus Beast" for f***'s sake. Who could say no to a bunch of "little people" pulling a jumbo jet, LOL!

Kyleigh H gave it a0:
What the heck was Fox thinking? Having celebrities like Todd Bridges and Dave Coulier skate with professional figure skaters like Tai Babilonia and Nancy Kerrigan. I never actually watched the show, but I've seen the commercials and this looked a total waste of time. Fox, why don't you do us and the rest of the USA a favor and stop making reality figure skating shows with celebrities and stick with American Idol and Nanny 911?

Adam S gave it a2:
Somewhat fun to watch, but the judging is so screwy -- it doesn't even match up with their own comments -- that it kills the enjoyment. Sure it's entertainment not real competition but like American Idol you'd like to believe the best contestant will win.

Roger K gave it a9:
I think it is a very entertaining show. It is fun to watch the celebrities learn what must be a very difficult sport and to sometimes do very well. So what if the celebrities aren't "A-list" celebs. I never liked rating celebs that way anyway, I like who I like whether they were the hot item of the past or the current thing.
