The show is filled with Lettermanesque non sequiturs and '70s pop-culture arcana... but it has heart too.

"The Knights of Prosperity" is knee-slappingly and side-splittingly funny stuff, or as close to that as TV gets these days.

It has a goofy charm and outsize ridiculousness that wins you over -- even if you'd prefer more snark.

"The Knights of Prosperity" has delivered this season where so many new shows have failed: It introduces a serialized story line with characters and a plot that are different and likable enough to warrant a return visit.

While every single actor is perfect and perfectly funny in his role, every time Richardson opens his mouth, I nearly spit my Weight Watchers fat-free snack food all over my desk. The guy is brilliant.

As in many filmed comedies, at times Knights seems content to substitute movement and scenery for comedy, but the brighter moments compensate for those times when the show goes slack.

Of the large, nicely peppered cast, I especially like Vergara, who has some of the vamping yumminess of a Catherine Zeta-Jones. [8 Jan 2007, p.35]

The break-in may never take place, but the characters are appealing, and the writing is spirited enough to carry the sitcom at least for a while.

"Knights" is without question the funniest comedy ABC has on its roster. But look at the network's other options, and you'll understand that's not what you'd call a hard-won honor.

It's a cute show, but the premise is so paper-thin you have to wonder how the writers will sustain "Knights" for a full season, let alone many years, if successful.

There's plenty of that low-key humor that characterized Ed, and the show can be hilarious when the crew gets involved in Keystone Kops capers, but it drags in the middle ground.

Despite the presence of a capable cast of bumbling Robin Hood wanna-bes... "The Knights of Prosperity" quickly devolves into tepid, overwrought whimsy and struggles to sustain its premise.

[Knights] has its moments in a "Honeymooners" sort of way but, especially after viewing the second episode, feels destined to run out of gas long before its central sextet gets any satisfaction.

This is a very funny show. The comedic timing of all the wonderful actors and actress is impeccable. The characters on the show are terrific and the actors who play them have such good chemistry, I love the way their personalitities work so well with one another. And Ithe plot is so uniquely hilarious.

marjorie m gave it a10:
very funny, which is refreshing these days! i love the concept, and donal logue is great. i'm hoping they give it a chance

This show cannot be cancelled. Knights of Properity is the best written comedy show on today. To have it replaced with drivel (e.g. According to Jim) just does not make sense. Who's idea was it to go against American Idol...that thing is a monster, nothing can beat it...for now. Please bring this show back, this show is definitely a Friday show...the one comedy show that assumed that its audience had an I.Q. higher than 80 is now gone. Bring it back ABC!

Stefanie G gave it a10:
I never stop laughing at this show. It is AMAZING, by far the best show on tv this year so far. I have never ever bothered tuning in to every single episode of a tv show until now. I've literally watched each episode more than 2 times. I can't get enough. My roomate and I quote this, in an Anchorman-esque style. This show shouldn't be cancelled... how can anyone not laugh at this show? THUMBS UP, Letterman!

Ryan M gave it a10:
NOT DEAD YET! ABC pierces armor of struggling 'Knights' ABC is yanking The Knights of Prosperity from its schedule this week. But the struggling comedy may get a second life with a new white knight: Ray Romano. In last week's episode, he replaced Mick Jagger as the target of Knights' hapless burglars. ABC is considering a plan to renew the series for next season, adding new episodes featuring the Everybody Loves Raymond star to several already shot with him. Five remain from this season. Knights' Wednesday slot will be filled by repeats of According to Jim and George Lopez.

Dawn A gave it a1:
Absolutely terrible. Was this supposed to be a comedy? I didn't laugh once. I will never watch it again.

Russ T gave it a2:
Slow pitch humor... prolonged and predictable punch lines... and an insult to our intelligence. This is a fraud on the profession of comedians compared to quality shows that showcase witty and/or edgy writing like Arrested Development (RIP) or the Sarah Silverman show. I ask, how drunk or desperate do you have to be to green light such try-hard and derivative crap? And the characters?! Jebus! An ethnic cab driver and a fat black dude... oh wait and a hot-headed New Yorker! Someone earned a paycheck for this? Did Mick Jagger even watch the final product before pimping his name in this flabby attempt at comedy?
