Starring Treat Williams, Kari Matchett, Chris William Martin, Gage Golightly, Morena Baccarin, Danielle Nicolet, Dabney Coleman, and Rockmond Dunbar

Everwood's Treat Williams once again plays a doctor--this time a heart transplant surgeon--in TNT's new original drama. We should warn you, though, that he's also a member of the ever-growing clique of television characters who speak to ghosts.

GENRE(S): Drama

Philadelphia Inquirer Jonathan Storm
A surprisingly effective personal drama.

Wall Street Journal Dorothy Rabinowitz
This is suspense that goes well beyond that of most medical shows.

New York Post Adam Buckman
A mushy, messy, medical melodrama that's pretty much identical to a dozen other doctor dramas you've seen many times before.

The New York Times Ginia Bellafante
Hollander... has pared the medical drama down to its barest notions of life and death and sliced away the acronyms, arguably just when they needed some cutting.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Rob Owen
A pedestrian medical drama that sparks to life near the end of the pilot.

Hollywood Reporter Barry Garron
The characters connect mostly on a clinical level, rarely deeper.

The declining but not yet flatlining EKG of their relationship is captured very nicely by Williams and Matchett, both giving strong, stoic performances. Everything else is too quiet, though. [25 Jun 2007, p.41]

Chicago Tribune Maureen Ryan
Despite “Heartland’s” obviously good intentions and Williams’ likable presence, it’s difficult to find a pulse in this workmanlike drama.

Boston Globe Matthew Gilbert
"Heartland" doesn't use its talent in service of anything other than predictable, inoffensive stories and a contrived relationship between the two leads.

Los Angeles Times Mary McNamara
Fox should send TNT the super fancy bouquet because, once again, "House" never looked so good.

Newark Star-Ledger Alan Sepinwall
It is every organ transplant storyline you've ever seen before on "ER" or "Chicago Hope" or elsewhere, told in the most unimaginative fashion possible, acted out by a competent group of actors not given much to play.

Variety Brian Lowry
In terms of concocting drama, the characters and situations don't strike sharply enough to break the skin, much less stir the heart.

good cast, ok show. I do like the fact that they are not 100% successful.

Chad B gave it a10:
This show is outstanding and makes the viewers things. It addresses many ethical, emotional and spiritual issues of our day. It is one of the best shows to air in years.

Greg M gave it a4:
a robotic, formulaic, contrived dud acted stoically by competent players

Kirsty J. gave it a2:
Probably the worst acting (male lead) I've seen in a looong time. So, so boring show.

Loved it - can't wait for next episode!
