Tom Shales said it best: Tries desperately to be as incessantly offensive as often as possible on every subject possible -- and fails even at that.
Martha R gave it a10:
Refreshing - crazy like life - I should know - I'm a Bishop's daughter!
M Johnson gave it a10:
It was thought provoking and such a relief to see a program grappling with common, though hidden, issues. It might have tried too hard to deal with a lot in a short time. Considering that most of what's offered on network TV is violent and graphically so, The Book of Daniel almost made me believe that NBC was a humane and compassionate network. I don't think that anymore.
Rayan M gave it a9:
I think this show is so much bout life because you do not all all ways know what is going on in a faimly like how the dad pops pills and the son is gay
S Gordon gave it a10:
Hope this is picked up on cable.
Donna J gave it an8:
It is just so funny. We loved it.. The fear factor reality tv is just not cutting it.wThis is good solid laughter. Reminds me of SOAP. Noorse than the fear factor, shot them up cop shows High sexual content ect..

NBC did not give this show a fair chance. As those of us who have watched the episodes shown on line can attest to the story line and the characters are just beginning to fully develop and if the "Christian right" could get over themselves and their holier than thou attitudes and live in the real world, they would see that this is a family living with the issues we all face today(aging parents, homosexuality, drugs, teen sex), whether we are Christian or not.
