NFL 2K2 (Dreamcast)

The follow-up to last year's universally praised "NFL 2K1" adds, among other things, additional online features allowing gamers to track their wins and losses against other players online, it eliminates those unstoppable "money" plays from last years game, and it features more realistic quarterback logic.

Critic Reviews

100 Gaming Age
Without a doubt the finest football gaming experience on the DC - and as a football game compares favourably with EA's Madden series. DC owners should run, not walk, to check out NFL 2K2 immediately.
100 GamePro
Continues to deliver well-balanced pigskin fun with awesome graphics, intuitive controls, numerous options, and lightning-fast onscreen action.
95 GameSpot
If you're looking to get back online and challenge people from all over the country or just your friends sitting across the room, NFL 2K2 is better than last year's game.
92 GameShark
Everything is there right down to players talking on the field, including the most important thing of all, a crowd that is into the game.
90 Game Informer
Nothing but wild fun. [Nov 2001, p.125]
90 Hot Games
Whereas last year the controls seem looser than Madden’s, and therefore more intuitive and fun, this year they seem way too easy.
90 IGN
A fun football game that, flaws aside, focuses on improving gameplay to the next level. And my dear readers, that's what it's all about.
90 Planet Dreamcast
If you're satisfied with updated rosters, win-loss records online, and some tweaks to an already excellent AI, this is the game for you. If you were expecting NFL2k2 to go out with the mother of all bangs on the Dreamcast, you may be mildly disappointed.
85 Electric Playground
Make no mistake about it, this game is a contender and could be some stiff competition for Madden on the new consoles.
80 Next Generation Magazine
It’s showing its age, but NFL 2K2 can still compete with anything the next generation has to offer. [Jan 2002, p.86]
78 Electronic Gaming Monthly
Nowadays, the game’s blocky, out-of-proportion players are showing their age. [Dec 2001, p.260]
67 Core Magazine
Improvements over last year's version are few and far between, something of a disappointment considering Visual Concept's track record.
