Dinosaur tries so hard to be a good game for kids, but it just falls flat on its face due to the control issues. I can't imagine kids playing this game for long periods of time; it is so complicated for the wee people that it's more of a hassle than anything else.

But if I wanted to read about dinosaurs, I'll go to the library... if I want to see the gorgeous CG of the movie, I'll go to my neighborhood video store... and if I want to play a real video game, I'll avoid Dinosaur.

The graphics, while not terrible, certainly border on the slightly embarassing.

Despite the fact that Dinosaur boasts 12 full levels, each is pathetically short, not to mention extremely easy, usually only consisting of a couple of quick puzzles briefly interrupted by occasional fight sequences. Unfortunately, those are also short and terribly dull.

Though it has a few extra features like higher-quality full-motion video and an improved "dinosaur encyclopedia," it's really just an average game that you'd do well to pass up.
