Critic Reviews

88 Daily Radar
The real appeal of a surfing game is the feel of the board responding to the waves, however, and Championship Surfing captures that beautifully.
80 Planet Dreamcast
The feeling of surfing has never been realized so well, and the game itself is just a joy to play. If you're interested in a change of pace, consider picking this one up.
72 GameSpot
While far from perfect, it is easily the best surfing game on the market, but more importantly, it's also a fun game.
70 GamePro
Too laid back. It plays more like a lazy day at the beach, rather than a gonzo ride atop a force of nature.
65 GamerWeb Sega
Buy it if you like your surfing with a healthy dollop of frustration.
60 DC Swirl
It also comes with a degree of difficulty that flirts with "Thrasher"-like degrees of insanity, but is offset by lots of gameplay modes, some dopey humor and decent (but not outstanding) graphics.
50 Game Revolution
There's nothing brutally wrong with Championship Surfer, but there isn't really enough to keep the non-surfer interested. It's just wave after wave after wave.
35 Happy Puppy
Well, this game is more than all wet. It's completely sodden. Water logged. Soaked. Drenched.
34 IGN
To use a popular term reserved for the most successful of vacuum cleaners... it sucked.
