Little League World Series is the first officially licensed Little League video game to hit next-generation consoles. Bat, pitch and field your way from local sandlot slugger to Little League World Series Champion. Featuring eight U.S. and eight international teams, extraordinarily deep character customization, World Series Mode, and various skill based challenges, Little League World Series offers an exciting, authentic baseball experience. Motion-sensing controls on Wii make it accessible for Little League players and parents, while the DS version gives players the freedom to get on the diamond anywhere. [Activision]

If the game only had a little more depth and online play, it would be easy to recommend this without question. As it is, it’s right up there with Power Pros as one of the more enjoyable Wii experiences you can have in a baseball game.

IGN
Little League World Series 2008 is too expensive for what it is -- sitting at the current max price of $50 on Wii -- and offers only Wii-mote solo mode, which means hardcore baseball fans are going to be put off at the lack of fielder control, swing aiming, and the lack of general depth of the game.

Cheat Code Central
It's a fairly simple game in terms of control, but there is some depth to it and plenty of replayability.

Video Game Talk
Sticking way too literally to the idea of the Little League World Series means there's hardly enough "game" here to interest any adult looking for baseball action, while the complexity of the pitching controls might be enough to turn off kids who like the anime looks of the game.
