What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off? After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen. Joining WALL-E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots. Players of the game take control of WALL-E and EVE through a fast-paced adventure based on the Disney/Pixar film. The game allows fans to relive some of the movie’s most thrilling moments as they explore 10 worlds filled with non-stop action and adventure, along with head-to-head multiplayer challenges. Players will recognize the storyline, characters and key locations from the WALL-E film as they carry out intense missions, dodge dangerous enemies and navigate their way through a futuristic world. In addition, the game contains new storylines and environments that movie-goers will not see in theaters. [THQ]

Worth Playing
Children in the target age range for the "WALL-E" movie will undoubtedly love this game, from the youngest in that demographic to the oldest. But the game is also quite enjoyable and good for adults, especially fans of "WALL-E" or Pixar movies in general.

The story is charming but ironic at the same time. Lighthearted humor is served throughout, making WALL-E one of the most fun kids’ games an adult can play.

DailyGame
WALL-E is a fun character and film, but while the game explores more of the movie's universe, the gameplay doesn't explore anything by familiar ground.

GameDaily
It's good but not great, occasionally running into camera problems that result in a lost life from a mistimed jump or getting "stuck" behind a wall. The multiplayer is good too, consisting of salvaging and shooting levels where you can compete with up to three other friends in offline split-screen action.

WALL-E is a solid platforming game that children will love.

Overall WALL•E for the PS3 is not a bad game but it does have its share of issues and annoyances.

Game Chronicles
WALL-E on the PlayStation 3 is about the best out of the three versions I reviewed and may be worth buying. If you want a decent game that has the sections of multiplayer that younger ones can easily have fun with and a few hours of WALL-E trash gathering or EVE flying this is worth it.

Wall-E is overflowing with charm, but the simple gameplay makes the experience fall flat.

This game should be enjoyable for the whole family and a parent may need to be present in order to explain everything to a child. For a movie tie-in game for the younger crowd, it's not bad.

WALL-E is a boring game with sub-par gameplay, poor replay value, lacking presentation, and little-to-no visual polish.

This is a game intended to be played alongside its Pixar big brother and provide an experience that kids will relate back to, and it does that just fine.

Wall.E is another disappointment in a series of movie/game disappointments. Kids will tire after their parents have long left the room but there will still be hours left to beat game.

IGN
Wall-E falls into that unfortunate category of weak film to game adaptation. With tons of visual issues, a horrible camera and gameplay that isn't particularly striking or innovative, Wall-E does a disservice to the little robot that falls in love.

I guess the unkindest kick in the, uh, waste cubes is the lack of extras.

THQ's platformer handles infuriatingly enough to make you hate - arguably - Pixar's most likeable character yet. [Sept 2008, p.79]

Wall-E is monotonous, filled with technical problems, and most importantly far from the potential of PlayStation 3.

If throwing cubes of trash at buttons is up your alley, then we've got just the thing: Heavy Iron's game-itization of Pixar's WALL-E is an offal-chucking aficionado's dream come true. What it isn't, though, is much fun at all.
