The soundtrack to Bionic Commando: Rearmed is a fantastic piece of work, a deft contemporary reworking of classic 8-bit NES tunes. In fact, it's so good that Capcom put it up for sale on the iTunes Store months ago to build hype for the game.

Bionic Commando: Rearmed is terrific in almost every way, revitalizing a classic but long-dormant game in an exciting way that stands on its own, but also serves as a potent reminder that there's a new retail sequel on the horizon that'll bring all this crazy swinging to 3D environments.

Bionic Commando Rearmed Is a fine example of how to take on old game and make it new again without stripping it of what made it unique and fun to begin with. It’s got a fantastic sense of style in its presentation.

Worth Playing
Bionic Commando Rearmed is easily a strong enough title to go for $30 on the PSP, and it's definitely a worthy PlayStation Network/Live Arcade title at $10. The graphics overhaul, improved boss battles, hacking mini-game, new weapons and bionic arm abilities, multiplayer support and additional content will provide immense replay value.

If you're short on patience or have a nervous disorder, then you should approach Rearmed with caution. If, however, you love the genre and harbor fond memories of the original, then this game will seem like a gift from the Eighties God of Shooty Bang-Bang.

Even though there are some frustrating quirks, GRIN and Capcom have given the original a massive overhaul in nearly every area, from the beautiful visuals, to the pumping audio, right down to the changes and additions made to the gameplay...for $10, this is a winner.

A labour of love. The core of the game might be a remake, but the features and polish applied move it beyond the realm of simple cash-ins to one of the finest games to grace PSN or XBLA yet. [Sept 2008, p.92]

Capcom really did a great job of walking the fine line between paying homage to the classic and moving in a new direction. Of course, Rearmed isn't perfect: the controls take some getting used to, the hacking mini-game's sort of lame, and the game is still brutally tough--curse you spiked floors!--but it's a great update that I heartily recommend to old school NES fans and new gamers alike.

Aron R. gave it a10:
Awesome 2d game. Excellent gameplay. Good difficulty. Excellent soundtrack and a nice twist of humor. Enjoyed it a lot on my PS3.

Jusin Y. gave it a4:
Visually appealing but forgets that most people who played the original are now adults and cannot devote a summer to learning level layouts and mastering difficult controls.

Matt M. gave it a10:
This game is truly amazing! Die hard fans of the original will undoubtedly enjoy this game along with other's who have not, like myself. Definitely worth the $10. Also the PS3 version has some exclusive content such as a challenge mode, where you get to play hundreds of small levels that test your skills. It really is a lot of fun and you even get to play it on your PSP through Remote-Play, which is even better!

Jack H. gave it an8:
Not too shabby... To be honest, i had never played this nintendo classic...which is odd for me considering i owned over 110 regular NES games. It reminds me of a blend b/w contra and metal slug and metal gear (this is loosly based - for all of you atagonizers out there :P). This game is pretty unique and for $10 it comes packing plenty for the moolah. 2 player co-op, 4 player battles, and a deeper game than it seems on the surface (for those of you, like me, that have never playe the original and are ignorant). Also, the music is pretty awesome, nostalgic with a new kickin' beat over-tone. Don't miss this.

Max B. gave it a10:
The best game available to download on both XBLA and PSN to date. The original was an amazing game, but this blows it away in every aspect.
