| Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come |
 |

|
It all happened in the darkest century of the medieval Europe, when a visionary Pope ignited the flames of the first crusade and united the rivaling nations for one single cause: to conquer the Holy Land. Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come tells the story of this great campaign through the eye of a chosen knight, and chronicles his struggles to rise higher among the ranks, combining character development and challenging mission-to-mission gameplay with a historically accurate background. Your chosen hero arrives to the colossal walls of Constantinople as a simple crusader and in the months to come he will rise to the level of fame where royal heads rival for his services… until he becomes one of the leaders who lay siege to the Holy City itself. Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come is a real time strategy game that will take you to the birth of the Crusader States. March with the crusaders towards Jerusalem and fight on the magnificent battlefields of the faraway lands, from the Mediterranean pine forests to the barren rocky deserts of the Holy Land. Face the dangers of the raging sandstorms, lead secret ambushes in the dead of the night and storm mighty walls with your siege engines. Due to the realistic environment simulation in Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come you will have to take all these factors into account to win the battle. [Neocore Games]

This is an intense game, filled with challenges, and at the same time very straightforward and uncomplicated on its approach.

Pleasantly absorbing. The battles play out smoothly with the streamlined interface, and there's a lot of flavour added between missions with historical facts being imparted, and a bunch of decisions to be made on which factions to support, and how best to shape your army.

Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come is the first attempt by Neocore Studios, and at times, it shows. I wouldn't exactly call this game a worthless donut, but it breaks my heart to see so much time, effort and money spent on a title that is mediocre at best.

The idea of leading a small unit of soldiers through the trail of battles to Jerusalem is sound, the execution poor to appalling. Too short list of orders, erratic AI and completely ahistorical weaponry doom this game to obscurity. [June 2008]
