Hot Games
It does what every great game should -- keeps you guessing as to what might happen next.

Dreamcast.net
You haven't lived until you've been called a "stupidhead" by a polygon-generated fish named Beavis.

Gaming Age
Those in the market for something different and unique, will most likely get the most satisfaction out of the game.

If you're a stickler for time, or actually want to keep your REAL pets alive, then Seaman may find himself flushed down the toilet.

A truly new gameplaying experience that is worth checking out.

Even now after two weeks with the fella I feel great joy and look forward to each morning to see what will happen next.

Gamestyle
If one game could attract the masses, then the satisfaction and stimulation gathered from communicating is the shining example. Gamestyle expectantly awaits the next release from Yoot Saito and his Vivarium team.

GamerWeb Sega
Raising and talking to Seaman is an addiction, obsession, and rewarding experience, but it can also be a frustrating and time-consuming one.

Planet Dreamcast
You simply need to keep giving Seaman a few minutes of your time each day, and you'll be rewarded with a freak show the likes of which you've never seen.

Happy Puppy
Although incredibly entertaining, unique, surprising, and well designed in nearly every respect, "Seaman" is not perfect, revealing many of the current limitations of voice-recognition software.

Sega X
As long as you don't get "obsessed", as Mr. Nimoy would say, you'll enjoy the game... Maybe I just got too emotionally attached to the little critter, go figure.

Gaming Maxx
Definitely good in the sound department as long as you don't mind that there is no music.

If anything, this will attract non-gamers, and that is a very good thing.

Total Video Games
I urge you to try it out. I did, and found a worthwhile experience that can be slow and frustrating at times, but ultimately puts a smile on your face and gives you a sense of achievement.
80
AllDreamcast
Far from perfect, but as a virtual pet simulation, it's the best of it's kind.
80
CheckOut
It's the most unorthodox, weirdest and freakiest gaming experience you'll ever have.
80
Dreamcast HQ
One cool thing Sega was able to do was cast Leonard Nimoy (the infamous Dr. Spock) as your narrator and guide to raising your Seaman.
75
Daily Radar
Those seeking an action-oriented experience need not apply either; most of the "game" involves waiting, tending Seaman's tank, waiting, chatting, and waiting some more.
72
Da Gameboyz
This is not a title I would recommend to the average gamer, but it is a unique experience and I found it well worth the time, just for the weirdness factor.
70
Game Fan
Let's get this out in the open -- "Seaman" can, and will, bore the hell out of you.
67
Core Magazine
Although Seaman himself looks good, his bleak environment offers nothing to entertain the eyes or ears while you're waiting for evolution to happen.

Game Revolution
This is that rare title that sort of defies grading, seeing as how the game isn't really a game at all.

The game needs more activities and less preaching before it's truly ready for prime time.

After hours of useless conversation, wasted time, and unrewarding returns, chances are that Seaman will start to remind you of your ex-girlfriends.

SAIGE E. gave it a 10:
It was awesome but it would be more fun if i played it by myself not with my grade six class!

Miro B. gave it a 10:
It's as if I made friends with a "fictional" character. Too bad the Dreamcast's prime is over, cause I'd love to see more Seaman titles come out for it.

Michael B. gave it a 4:
It's a novel idea......It's good idea really ,but i can't get over the slowness and the repetiveness of this game.

Dave T. gave it a 10:
This game is great. Despite the fact that your parents will probably think that you have mental issues the first few times they hear you talking, there is nothing more amusing than hearing a polygonal fish call you a moron.

Alex P. gave it a 9:
Great game but hard to stick with it every day.

David H. gave it an 8:
It is very bleak but good graphics and i love the speech thing.
