A bit like a B-Dreamcast game, and will probably secure a place in your library for that reason, so maybe you can skip the Eric Roberts movie after all.

Sports the best lighting effects you’ll ever see on the Dreamcast. The overall graphic quality is topnotch with sharp prerendered environments and good-looking characters.

When you go up against "RE Code: Veronica" armed with only a flashlight, you just aren't going to win the battle. [Nov 2001, p.125]

A pretty good game and something that I would recommend any horror fan to play.

While there are better games available for the console--most notably, Capcom's Resident Evil: Code Veronica--the budget price of this game is sure to please just about any gamer willing to take the plunge into this well-saturated genre.

There's a lot of survival in this survival horror, but very little horror. Occasionally it manages to surprise you with some good monster placement and give you a little jolt, but that's all.

The Dreamcast version gives you the best of all possible worlds: sharp, solid 3D graphics, along with reasonably familiar Resident Evil-style gamepad control. [Jan 2002, p.86]

Hayden P. gave it a5:
Not bad, not good either. Graphics kinda crummy compared to more recent games. Puzzle moderately challenging. Cross between Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Worst thing is camera views, short loading sequences every 5 minutes, and the control of the character. Wow, all this criticism and i've only had the game for 3 hours.

Ryan P. gave it an 8:
Good graphics and puzzles that have you searching the internet for walkthroughs. Only problem is a flashlight is considered a weapon.

Andrew B. gave it a 6:
Didn't find it all that challenging. I thought it to be sort of an RE rip off.
