Cooler still, you can fire a weapon called a sticky bomb that plants itself on a wall and detonates when you hit your GBA's A button. [June 2003, p.42]

Armchair Empire
This is one awesome GameCube title. Splinter Cell is a no-brainer next to Metroid Prime and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker to add to your ‘Cube library.

A nearly flawless conversion that adds more than it takes away... The transposition to Nintendo's controller is welcome, because the game now feels much more fluid and responsive.

IGN
Playing Splinter Cell in the dark with a brightly lit GBA SP glowing in sync with the television is a brand-new way of enjoying this already highly enjoyable game, and we fully recommend that GBA owners check it out. Our hats go off to Ubi Soft for taking the extra time to include it.

Even though you get more varied action from a "Metal Gear Solid," what's here is so well designed, I remained jaw-dropped impressed from start to finish. [June 2003, p.126]

Game Chronicles
While the game is heavily scripted you are given a surprising amount of latitude in how you accomplish your missions. The story is engrossing, the script professionally crafted, and the game features missions that rely more on stealth and covert tactics than combat and aggression.

Just a little underdeveloped. A little more freedom of play and movement would have done justice to the original ideas, then the hype would have been justified.

The connectivity additions elevate Splinter Cell to a whole new level of cool. Tilt the GBA SP screen up next to your TV - it's like being equipped with real surveillance gear. [June 2003, p.134]

This version of Splinter Cell disappointingly doesn’t measure up to the superior versions on the Xbox, PS2, and PC, although it’s still a decent mission for the GameCube.

Manny S. gave it a 10:

Tessa N. gave it a 9:
It's full of suspense...feels like you're part of the game.......when i got done playing, my heart was pumping.

Soul Calibur 2 gave it an 8:
This is a great game. Not very often do games emphasize stealth instead of brute force. James Bond games are not meant for stealth (no matter how much it says it is). The only criticism I would have is that the pick-ups should be easier to see, since most of the time you are in the dark.

Vicious P. gave it a 10:
This game is incredible!!Great voice acting, cool graphics, awesome sound, and ituitive controls-what more could you want.GC owners should definitely buy this game.

Steven gave it a 10:
Awesome and compelling... having problems already... And i've only beat the 1st mission! Also, its very lifelike--as lets say you jump from a 10 ft high building, you'll take life(a lot in this game...)

Mike B. gave it a 10:
This game is the best.
